THE FINALS has shown the first gameplay trailer for PRIME TIME, its major October 20 update. The October 15 Galaxies showcase presentation brings the upcoming season’s changes into view, while Embark’s current official roadmap lays out a new solo tournament and a different set of options for Light players.
The launch date was announced before this week. The useful news here is the fuller picture of what is arriving: new ways to compete, revised arenas and changes to how those arenas break apart.
A tournament without the usual squad
Solo Showdown puts 12 contestants into a three-round tournament. The rounds are selected randomly from eight mini-modes, according to the roadmap. That is a distinct proposition for anyone who likes the game’s competitive structure but wants a format built around individual entrants.
Embark also lists the Infiltrator as a Light playstyle, with the True Sight Specialization, Mimic Device and Translocator. The names are confirmed; this report does not assign unverified cooldowns, ranges or balance advantages to them.

Watch the floor as well as the opponent
The destruction roadmap includes gradual breakage and hinging, swinging suspended structures, blast waves, debris piles and dynamic smoke. In its earlier September 18 developer explanation, Embark described parts of a building remaining attached as they fail, with sagging floors creating routes between storeys and collapsed material becoming surfaces to move across.
Those changes could make a damaged room worth reading more carefully. A floor that has started giving way presents a different decision from one that is simply intact or gone. How clearly the game communicates that danger will be an important part of judging the update in play.
Classic arenas are also being reworked, alongside the UI, HUD, sponsor progression and match presentation. These are the developer’s announced changes; they do not establish that every performance or readability issue has already been solved.
