A major part of the experience is the standard modes: Exhibition , Career and also has the FedEx Cup Championship that players can also compete in.

Players can still customize their golfers in a plethora of ways, but now has the ability to customize clubs to the players liking. There is the new "Dynamic Skill" where instead of players building up characters stats, their stats are determined on their performance from game to game. There is also online mode where four players can play an online match either turn-based or simultaneously and can also play on EA Sports GamerNet and earn points by completing challenges and track their performance on the daily leaderboards.
