James Bond finally has a firm Nintendo Switch 2 date. IO Interactive confirmed on October 14 that 007 First Light will launch for Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, with preorders open now.
The Switch 2 version follows the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC release rather than launching alongside those editions. IOI says the extra development time is being used to continue refining optimization and performance on Nintendo's hardware.
The exact date replaces the broader March window
IO Interactive had previously moved the Switch 2 edition into March 2027 without naming a day. The new announcement locks that window to March 18 and accompanies it with a new gameplay trailer showing the game running on Switch 2.
For someone waiting specifically for the Nintendo version, that distinction matters more than another general “coming soon” trailer. March 18 is now the publisher-confirmed target.
The Deluxe Edition is $69.99 in the US
IOI lists the Switch 2 Deluxe Edition at a suggested retail price of $69.99 in the United States, €69.99 in Europe and £69.99 in the UK. It includes early access to the GoldenEye Suit at launch, the Gleaming Lighter, Gleaming Earphones, Gleaming Dart Gun and Gleaming Pen gadget skins, plus four additional outfits.
Those outfits are Day of the Dead, Desert Explorer, Silent Anchor and Gentleman Operator. The GoldenEye Suit is also being used as the preorder incentive for the Switch 2 version.

There is also a retailer-specific Special Edition
IO Interactive says a 007 First Light Special Edition for Switch 2 is available exclusively through Amazon and includes access to the Classic Tuxedo. The publisher also points buyers to the Nintendo Store and selected retailers for Switch 2 preorders generally.
Before choosing an edition, compare the actual extras you care about rather than assuming the most expensive listing is automatically the best fit. The October 14 announcement is mostly about date certainty and cosmetic preorder options, not a newly announced expansion or story chapter.
Performance is still being worked on
IOI says hands-on Switch 2 builds were shown at gamescom and Tokyo Game Show and that the team will use the months before release to keep refining optimization and performance. The announcement does not publish a final frame-rate target, resolution target or exhaustive technical comparison with the other versions.
That means those details should stay in the “wait for confirmation” column. A firm release date is not the same thing as final performance specifications.
Bond games already on Zypher's shelves
If the Switch 2 release sends you back through Bond's game history, Zypher currently has several older physical 007 titles in stock, including 007: Nightfire for Nintendo GameCube, 007: Nightfire for original Xbox, 007 Racing for PlayStation, and 007: Agent Under Fire for PlayStation 2.
Those games are separate legacy releases and should not be confused with First Light, but they make a useful snapshot of how differently Bond has been adapted across console generations.
