Original Hitman: Absolution text logo in white and red on black; not Switch 2 gameplay

Hitman: Absolution reaches Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026, and existing Switch owners have until November 4 to claim its Upgrade Pack free. Feral Interactive confirmed the release and claim window in its October 15 announcement.

The deadline deserves a place beside the launch date. Anyone who already owns the Switch release should check the upgrade offer instead of automatically purchasing the full game again.

The free claim has an end date

Feral directs existing Switch owners to collect the Upgrade Pack from Nintendo eShop between launch and November 4. After that window, it becomes a paid upgrade. Check the offer displayed for your account before confirming a transaction.

That is a reason to keep the edition names straight when browsing. A platform upgrade, the original game and a full newer edition are different purchase decisions. Our Switch region and DLC guide explains why an add-on also needs to match the software you own.

Mouse controls and a stated handheld performance ceiling

The announced changes include Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, higher output resolution in handheld and docked use, and handheld frame rates up to 60 FPS. Those are Feral's specifications, not Zypher test results. They do not establish a locked frame rate or a docked 60 FPS guarantee.

Contracts is part of the launch plan

Feral also confirms Contracts mode for the Switch 2 release. Its June 9 publisher release, issued when Contracts reached the original Switch version, explains how the mode works: players choose up to three targets, complete an assignment, then share it online for others to attempt.

The creator's weapons and disguises help define the challenge. Concealing bodies and remaining undetected can affect the score, while online leaderboards compare results. That gives returning players a separate reason to revisit locations beyond replaying the campaign.
