A portable version of it's console cousins, Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover features the same kind of gameplay, a fighting game using some of rap's biggest names and authentic music. The story mode leads up to Def Jam Vendetta, telling the story of how D-Mob takes control of New York. It also has new locations along with new moves as well.
Players can take control of rappers like Busta Rhymes, Carmen Electra, Lil' Kim, Ludacris, Method Man, Redman, Snoop Dogg, just to name a few, each with their own music provided to the game.
