Fully licensed by the NBA, Street is an arcade-style hoops game which puts your favorite NBA players on outdoor courts and permanently glues the rulebook shut. Cartoonish players compete in three-on-three games, and the first squad to reach 21 points wins.
Take Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson and Busta Rhymes. Toss them all into a gigantic blender and hit the "Liquefy" button. Goaltending, charging, hacking and trash talking are not only legal -- they're encouraged. Buying in to the old "Two turbo buttons are better than one" theory, the game designers have blessed players with THREE turbo buttons to exploit.
As you humiliate the competition with pump-fakes and above-the-rim rejections, your Gamebreaker Meter will slowly increase. When it's full, your chances of draining an outside shot are greatly increased. It's like subbing Reggie Miller for your little brother when you need a big basket at clutch time.
The primary mode of play is City Circuit Mode, which takes you on a tour of the country's most happenin' hoops hotspots. After disgracing a few NBA players from each region you visit, you'll be challenged by a trio of local players. Every time you defeat a team, you can add a player to your own squad, or build up and design your own player.
NBA Street is a polished game which pays tribute to what basketball is all about: having fun.
