Saros has a new reason to occupy your PS5. Housemarque released its free Zenith update on October 19, 2026, adding boss rush, New Game+ and more ways to adjust the combat. Whether you finished the game or bounced off its speed, there is something here worth checking.

There is already a follow-up to install, too. Housemarque's patch 02.000.001 notes, updated October 19, list balance changes and fixes following Zenith's arrival. Catch up on the download before treating an old run as your reference point.

Finished the story? Pick your next kind of punishment

PlayStation's current Saros overview confirms two different additions. Eclipse Layers is New Game+ for players who have cleared the game, adding a more demanding return through Carcosa with further progression and Carcosan Modifiers. Overlord Rush puts the main game's bosses into consecutive fights with integrated leaderboards. Online leaderboards require an internet connection and a PlayStation account.

Our take: those serve different evenings. Another campaign run offers a longer commitment; a boss gauntlet puts the confrontations at the center. Being offered both is useful when your enthusiasm for another run exceeds the amount of free time your calendar has generously approved.

Combat settings give you more room to react

The Zenith patch notes list adjustable game speed, motion sensor aiming, high-contrast display options and weapon auto-fire when aiming at an enemy. Slow Game Speed affects the player, enemies and projectiles. High contrast can add solid highlighting or outlines to characters.

Housemarque's announcement on PlayStation Blog adds an important detail: auto-fire does not reload for you. Perfect reload timing still needs an input. Giving your trigger finger a break does not make Carcosa responsible for the rest of your decisions.

That is the part of this update we find most interesting. Extra modes reward people already comfortable with the action. More control over pace and input gives other players a reason to return before they have reached that point. For the wider design story, our controller history looks at how available inputs shape play.

Check the follow-up patch before chasing leaderboard times

Patch 02.000.001 adjusts Overdrive charging and the time requirements for bonuses in Overlord Rush. It also fixes modifier selections resetting after closing the game with Unlimited Protection Modifiers enabled, plus an issue that could make some lucenite invisible during the mode.

Those changes are particularly relevant if your next visit is about timed scores. Our advice is to learn the current rules before comparing attempts. Zenith is available to existing Saros owners at no additional charge; this is an update to the PS5 game, not a separate purchase.
