Robot Racing in Bubble Town
Cubix: Robots for Everyone - Race 'n Robots brings the television robots to Bubble Town's racing championships on Game Boy Color. Cubix, Dondon, Maximix and Quixtreme are the featured choices on the North American box. The goal is to outrun Kolossal, with the show's robot cast competing across tracks and environments that include downtown Bubble Town.
Corners, Pickups and Turbo
Races are viewed from above, so you steer a small robot racer around bends while keeping track of the nearby road. Different robots have different performance statistics. The circuits are lap-based, and shortcuts give you another route to look for while learning the turns.
Power-ups add another decision to the racing line. The package highlights pickups that increase speed or protect the racer, plus Solex that supplies a turbo boost. Collecting these resources puts a reason to move around the track alongside the basic task of reaching the finish ahead of your opponent.
Blue pickups can help your run, while red pickups can stop the racer. That makes the route through a cluster of objects matter as well as the corner itself. The overhead layout encourages learning where the bends and useful pickups appear rather than following a distant horizon.
Tracks, Keys and Progress
Finding keys during races opens hidden tracks, adding an exploration goal to the competition. Progress also includes a versus race against the boss robot. Returning to the courses can mean looking for the items and shortcuts that were missed while concentrating on the finish.
An original account of the US Game Boy Color release describes further character unlocks and boss races as play advances. Progress uses a password, so recording it is part of keeping access to what you have reached. This is a portable racing game built around its tracks, pickups and robot choices.
The Game Boy Color Presentation
The handheld version uses overhead racing sprites and character portraits between events. Its music and effects are electronic, and the small course view keeps the action close to your racer. The licensed characters provide the Bubble Town setting while the racing itself stays centered on turns, boosts and track hazards.
This listing is the Game Boy Color cartridge version of Race 'n Robots. The North American package specifically identifies compatibility with Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance systems. Those hardware details belong to this handheld release, alongside its robot racing and key-based track unlocks.
