About the Game
EA Sports Active is a guided fitness program for Wii built around customizable circuit workouts and ongoing progress tracking. After creating a profile, players choose goals, workout length, intensity, and activity preferences. An on-screen trainer demonstrates each movement, provides timing and technique feedback, and reports estimated calories burned as the session moves from one exercise to the next.
Workouts & Progression
The program includes more than 25 activities that cover upper-body movement, lower-body work, cardio, and sports-style drills. Sessions can combine exercises such as squats, lunges, running, boxing movements, and resistance work into a continuous circuit. Preset routines focus on particular outcomes, while custom workouts let players select exercises and control the length or difficulty. The 30-Day Challenge creates a longer schedule, increases intensity over time, and records completed sessions so progress is easy to review.
Controls & Modes
Exercises use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, with the Nunchuk positioned in a compatible leg strap for lower-body tracking. A resistance band can be used for supported upper-body exercises, and Wii Balance Board compatibility adds alternate input to selected drills but is not required. The program supports one or two players offline, allowing a second participant to join supported workouts on the same system.
