Elmo's Letter Adventure turns alphabet practice into a set of small journeys with Sesame Street friends. You guide Elmo from the familiar street into Big Bird's farm, Grover's outer-space world, and Ernie's underwater world. Each host gives spoken instructions, and the goal is to recognize and collect the requested letters while moving through the scenery.
The learning activity is tied directly to what you do with the controller. A target letter appears in the status bar, and you steer Elmo through each environment to find matching examples. Correct choices fill the progress display; incorrect choices are recorded separately. Because the letters are distributed across two environments in each world, you need to keep exploring rather than simply repeat one selection in the same spot.
After collecting enough correct letters, Elmo enters a bonus area that introduces basic spelling. A picture accompanies a short word with its opening letter missing. Finding the appropriate letter completes the word, connecting the earlier recognition task with a concrete object and its name. Completing the puzzles returns Elmo to Sesame Street so you can choose another host and setting.
Three difficulty levels adjust the letter challenges, the number of correct selections needed, and the allowance for mistakes. Easier play concentrates on uppercase recognition, while later settings introduce more demanding letter comparisons. The difficulty can also be changed from the street between activities, making it possible to revisit a familiar world at a different level.
Verbal guidance, a controller display that highlights the relevant buttons, and positive feedback give the game a gentle, instructional rhythm. Movement works with the directional pad or Control Stick. This is a single-player game that starts afresh each session; it does not use cartridge saves or a Controller Pak.
