Fire Pro Wrestling
About the Game
Fire Pro Wrestling brings the long-running Japanese wrestling series to the North American Game Boy Advance lineup with a deep, systems-driven approach to the sport. Its large roster uses fictional names and organizations while drawing on a wide range of professional-wrestling styles. The presentation is compact and old-school: sprite wrestlers meet in an angled ring, the crowd reacts to the action, and the focus stays on building a convincing match rather than spectacle.
Gameplay & Core Systems
Success depends on timing, positioning, and pacing. Wrestlers lock up automatically at close range; pressing the correct attack input as the grapple connects determines whether a weak, medium, or strong move lands. Strong techniques are most reliable after an opponent has been worn down, so button mashing is less effective than reading the match and escalating offense deliberately. The system extends to strikes, running attacks, holds, counters, aerial moves, ringside action, and team maneuvers.
Edit mode adds substantial replay value by letting you create wrestlers, adjust their appearance and moves, rename existing competitors, and organize custom teams. Audience Match changes the goal from simply winning to performing in a way that suits a chosen wrestling style, rewarding smart match construction and unlocking additional wrestlers.
Modes & Ways to Play
Exhibition supports standard matches as well as Battle Royal, explosive Deathmatch, and submission-or-knockout Gruesome rules. Tournament, League, Elimination, Survival, and Audience Match modes offer different structures for longer sessions, including persistent damage in tournaments and five-member team competition in Elimination.
Solo play is available on one system. Local multiplayer supports up to four players and requires compatible Game Boy Advance hardware plus a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable; there is no online play. The cartridge format makes this a focused portable wrestling game with unusually deep customization and match variety.
