Suit up as Iron Man or War Machine

Iron Man 2 on Nintendo DS is a side-scrolling action game built around two armored heroes with different approaches to combat. The story sends Tony Stark and James Rhodes after stolen technology, taking them through enemy territory and into battles with robots, tanks, drones, vehicles and larger mechanical threats. It is a separate game narrative rather than a scene-by-scene retelling of the film, giving the campaign room to use Marvel opponents such as Crimson Dynamo and Mandroid.

Choose mobility or concentrated firepower

Iron Man emphasizes movement and aerial control. His suit can maneuver around attacks while cycling among several weapon systems, so positioning and timing matter as much as raw damage. War Machine is the heavier alternative, leaning on mounted weapons and touch-screen targeting to attack enemies from different directions. Both characters can also fight at close range, and the campaign mixes regular encounters with longer one-on-one boss battles.

Advance through an original campaign

Stages push the heroes across a sequence of hostile areas as the stolen-technology plot develops. Combat is designed around clearing threats, surviving denser mechanical opposition and learning when to stay mobile or commit to a stronger attack. Progress also opens additional costumes and armor designs drawn from different periods of Iron Man comic history, providing a visible reward for moving through the campaign.

Portable presentation and controls

The Nintendo DS release uses a side view and 2D scrolling structure, keeping the action readable on the dual-screen handheld. Touch-screen functions are part of War Machine's targeting system, while the standard controls handle movement and combat. This is the Nintendo DS version developed by Griptonite and published in North America by SEGA in 2010.
