MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 brings motorcycle racing to the original Xbox with a Grand Prix side based on the 2004 season and an additional Extreme mode. The Grand Prix events focus on established circuits, riders and race machines, while Extreme moves the competition onto street courses with a different selection of bikes and challenges.
Motorcycle handling rewards a measured approach. Braking before a corner, choosing a line and applying power on the exit all matter when you are trying to carry speed through a full lap. Weather and race conditions add another variable, making a familiar circuit feel different when grip becomes less predictable.
Four skill levels provide room to learn the handling before taking on more demanding opposition. The two sides of the game give players a choice between working on racecraft in the Grand Prix setting and progressing through the street-racing events. Returning to a track to improve your performance is as much part of the appeal as moving to the next challenge.
Local multiplayer supports up to four players, so the game can also serve as a competitive addition to an original Xbox collection. Additional controllers are needed for local participants.
