Terraria
Dig into a world you can reshape
Terraria is a side-view sandbox adventure built around exploration, gathering, crafting, and combat. A randomly generated world gives you a landscape to reshape rather than a fixed route to follow. Dig below the surface for resources, search unfamiliar environments for discoveries, and turn what you collect into equipment or the foundations of a home. The freedom to choose a project is central: a session can be about preparing for battle, extending a building, or following a tunnel to see what lies beyond it.
Building and adventuring feed into each other. Materials found underground can help you prepare for more dangerous encounters, while a growing settlement gives you a place to organize your projects and welcome the game's non-player characters. You can devote time to construction and decoration, then head out to test new gear against fantasy creatures and increasingly demanding bosses. Weapons, tools, and furnishings give gathered resources different uses, so exploring can support both the practical and creative sides of your world.
Make discoveries above and below ground
The environment offers more than one kind of expedition. Deserts, underground areas, oceans, and other biomes bring their own scenery, threats, and discoveries. Fishing provides another activity between building and fighting, including more dangerous encounters in the updated game. As a town develops, NPC happiness and Town Pylons add another reason to consider where its residents live. Pylons can link established towns into a travel network, making settlements part of the way you move through the world.
The updated Xbox One game also includes a Bestiary that records the enemies, allies, and critters you encounter. It gives discoveries a place in a growing reference rather than leaving every creature as a passing encounter. Together, those systems reward both investigating the landscape and developing the places you return to.
Choose your challenge or share the adventure
Journey Mode includes tools such as item duplication and controls for weather, difficulty, and enemy spawn rates. Master Mode provides a harder alternative for players looking to test their equipment and preparation. These features arrived through content updates, so downloading the available updates is necessary to access content added after the original disc release.
Play on your own or share the adventure through local split screen and online multiplayer. A group can contribute to a shared world while pursuing different building or exploration projects. Online multiplayer requires internet access and an applicable Xbox subscription.
