Tetrisphere rebuilds falling-block puzzle play around a layered three-dimensional sphere. Instead of filling flat rows, players move shapes across the curved surface, join matching pieces and drop a piece to break connected groups. The broad goal is to peel away layers and reach the core, but each mode changes what must be uncovered and how quickly the task has to be completed.
Every bad drop costs one of three hearts, so planning matters as much as speed. Large breaks create glowing Power Pieces that can slide over neighboring blocks and extend combos. Combos also produce magic, including tools that blast sections of the sphere, remove a layer, or cut toward the core. A Speed Meter steadily increases pressure; breaking Power Pieces adds time and keeps the sphere from pushing dangerously close to the screen.
The single-player selection includes Rescue, Hide & Seek, Puzzle and Time Trial. Rescue spans 100 stages built around freeing robot friends from the core. Hide & Seek adds changing instructions, Puzzle limits available moves across 100 constructed challenges, and Time Trial concentrates on score. Training covers basic, advanced and puzzle techniques, while a computer-versus option lets players practice competitive rules.
Two people can compete head-to-head in the dedicated VS modes using two controllers. No special accessory is required for the core game. Distinct robot characters, vivid effects and Neil Voss’s electronic soundtrack give the otherwise abstract puzzles a strong personality, while the layered sphere and combination system reward spatial thinking that feels meaningfully different from conventional Tetris.
