The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is a new release of The Elder Scrolls Online, replacing the previous version entirely. This is also the only version available on consoles. The biggest difference is the removal of the mandatory monthly subscription fee. The game now only requires a single purchase of the game, with the option to also pay for DLC expansion packs, crowns as a premium currency, or an "ESO Plus Membership" as a monthly subscription to receive access to all DLC packs, 1500 crowns per month and a 10% experience boost as long as the subscription is active. Additional items can be bought in exchange for crowns in the crown store. These include different types of items as well as customization options through pets, mounts and costumes. For existing players, crowns were provided according to their remaining subscription days on the old version of the game during the transition.
Many novelties for this version of the game were previously made available through Update 6 a few days prior to the release. It introduces a justice system where acts are remembered and bounties are provided, new veteran dungeons, Craglorn as a new veteran adventure zone, Dragonstar Arena as a new 4-player survival event, Trials as 12-player veteran challenges, guild trades, various fixes and improvements to game elements, and a new champion system where players with a veteran status start earning champion points that can be invested into new passive abilities.
