Two Versions of Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest places two complete versions of Link’s Nintendo 64 adventure on one GameCube disc. In Ocarina of Time, young Link leaves Kokiri Forest, travels across Hyrule and uses the Master Sword to move between childhood and adulthood. Dungeons, songs and time-based puzzles build toward a confrontation with Ganondorf after his rise to power.
What Master Quest Changes
Master Quest keeps the same story, world, characters and central equipment, but redesigns the dungeon experience. Room order, enemy placement, switches and puzzle solutions have been rearranged, so knowledge of the original route is not enough to clear every temple. The altered layouts make Master Quest a more demanding companion version rather than a separate sequel. Both games retain the action-adventure structure of lock-on sword combat, item-driven exploration, ocarina melodies and environmental puzzles.
GameCube Edition
This is a one-player physical GameCube release with no online-service requirement. The title originated as a special bonus disc connected to the North American launch of The Wind Waker, but this listing is for the Ocarina of Time / Master Quest disc itself and does not promise a separate game, preorder benefit or promotional insert. Compatible equipment can use 480p progressive-scan output and Dolby Surround. Nintendo developed and published the North American release, which arrived on February 16, 2003 and is rated E for Everyone. For returning players, Master Quest provides the main reason to revisit familiar landmarks; for newcomers, the standard game remains the intended starting point before taking on the remixed dungeons.
