Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Fight for a revolution in an occupied America
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus follows B.J. Blazkowicz into a version of 1961 America under Nazi rule. Continuing the story of The New Order, the campaign turns his battle into an effort to unite a resistance and ignite a revolution. The occupation supplies the wider stakes, while returning allies, new fighters, and B.J.'s own history give the struggle a personal center. The story introduces its characters and situation again, allowing newcomers to follow the campaign as well as returning players.
The journey moves between sharply different places, including Roswell, New Mexico, and the devastated remains of Manhattan. Frau Engel returns as a dangerous enemy, backed by soldiers and advanced military forces. Familiar resistance members such as Anya, Caroline, and Max Hass share the stage with new allies. Between missions, the captured U-boat Eva's Hammer serves as the resistance base, with opportunities to explore, discover side activities, and spend time with the people carrying the fight forward.
Firepower is flexible rather than restricted to one fixed approach. Carry two different weapons at once, combine a suppressed sidearm with a stronger firearm, or commit to the noise of heavy guns. Hatchets support close attacks and can also be thrown at enemies, then recovered for another encounter. Weapon upgrade kits found during exploration change how the arsenal works: a rifle scope supports more deliberate shots, while suppressors help with a quiet approach and larger magazines keep an aggressive assault going longer.
The campaign's timeline choice also changes a signature weapon. The Fergus route provides the Laserkraftwerk, an energy weapon that can melt steel and deliver powerful blasts. The Wyatt route provides the Dieselkraftwerk, which fires sticky fuel charges that you can detonate remotely. Both have upgrades, offering different ways to handle fortified enemies and set up an attack rather than merely changing the appearance of your equipment.
Special contraptions create further possibilities for movement and combat. The Constrictor Harness lets B.J. squeeze through narrow spaces, Battle Walkers reach higher positions, and Ram Shackles support a forceful route through obstacles. Looking around a level can reveal another angle on a difficult encounter. Stealth, careful positioning, and outright mayhem can flow into one another as circumstances change, making the campaign appealing to players who enjoy both character-driven storytelling and experimenting with a shooter’s tools.
