ReCore
Explore Far Eden with a team of Corebot companions
ReCore places Joule Adams on Far Eden, a windswept world where hostile robots threaten one of the last remaining humans. Her friendly Corebots are central to the journey. Each brings a different personality and practical ability, turning the adventure into a partnership between Joule's movement and combat skills and the machines that help her reach further into the planet.
Mack is a dog-like explorer whose speed and agility carry him through environments and into enemies. Seth is a spider-like companion who helps Joule reach distant walls and ledges. Duncan supplies heavier, gorilla-like attacks when force is needed. Choosing the right companion therefore affects both how you approach a fight and whether you can find a route through the terrain ahead.
Exploration moves between open dunes and hidden dungeons. Corebot abilities act as keys to new areas, and some dungeons can be approached in a different order. A path that is out of reach becomes a reason to think about the team rather than simply search for another corridor. Platforming and puzzles give those abilities a purpose beyond combat, while the planet's mysteries provide the story behind Joule's search.
Combat uses color-based attacks, including blue, yellow, red, and white, with enemies having different strengths and weaknesses. Adjusting your offense to the target creates a layer of decision-making within the third-person shooting. You must recognize the threat, select a useful attack, and make use of your companions as the encounter unfolds. The challenge comes from responding to what the robots are doing rather than treating every opponent as identical.
Crafting and Corebot customization add longer-term choices to that moment-to-moment action. Collecting and developing the team's frames gives exploration another purpose, while the companions retain their individual character. The result is an adventure for players who enjoy a mixture of jumping, fighting, finding routes, and gradually improving the tools that make further exploration possible.
This is the original Xbox One release. Microsoft made the later Definitive Edition enhancements available to original owners as a free online update, including the Eye of Obsidian adventure and T8-NK Corebot. Those additions require downloading the update and are not assumed to be present on the original disc. The physical disc requires a compatible Xbox console with a drive and does not provide the digital Xbox Play Anywhere PC entitlement.
