WWF No Mercy
Branching WWF Championship Stories
WWF No Mercy expands AKI’s Nintendo 64 wrestling system with a large roster, varied match rules, and a Championship Mode built around seven WWF titles. Each championship follows its own storyline, and wins or losses can send the narrative down different branches. Replaying a path can reveal alternate matches and outcomes, while completing title stories unlocks belts for use in Exhibition Mode.
The in-ring system balances strikes, grapples, reversals, submissions, and momentum. Wrestlers share a consistent control foundation, but their move sets, weight classes, and signature attacks create meaningful differences. Building momentum makes stronger offense available, while mistimed attacks leave room for counters. Matches can also move into four backstage locations, changing the space and pacing of a fight.
Match Variety and Long-Term Customization
Exhibition, Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, pay-per-view, survival, Iron Man, cage, ladder, guest-referee, tag-team, handicap, and other rule sets provide a wide range of solo and multiplayer options. Up to four players can compete locally on the same Nintendo 64.
The creation suite allows custom wrestlers to be assembled and edited, while the SmackDown Mall ties progression to currency earned through play. Moves, appearance options, and other unlocks give the game a long-term structure beyond completing championship stories. Players can also arrange their own events from unlocked match and title options.
