Starships flying above water between floating islands in No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky, available from Zypher in its PlayStation 4 edition, has another reason to point your ship somewhere unpleasant. Hello Games released Forsaken, update 7.10, on October 28, 2026. Its headline attractions are haunted salvage and biomechanical corvette parts, but the quieter additions could matter just as much: direct warping to nearby stars, a Multi-Tool mode wheel and an optional minimal HUD.

This is coverage of Wednesday's update, with a separate October 29 patch status below. If your plan for the weekend involves exploring abandoned spacecraft, the new shopping list includes biological samples. Apparently ordinary cargo wasn't unsettling enough.

Point at a nearby star and go

The most immediately useful change may be the new route between systems. According to Hello Games' full Forsaken notes, stars from nearby systems can now be targeted directly from space and warped to without opening the Galaxy Map. An interstellar mission can also mark the relevant nearby star with its mission icon.

The developer describes nearby systems specifically, so do not read this as unlimited range or free fuel. For players who would rather look through the cockpit than keep reopening a map, it is a welcome option on paper. We have not independently tested the new travel flow.

The salvage feeds your next ship build

Forsaken adds haunting mementos to deep-space hulks, derelict freighters, infested outposts and paleontological digsites. Forsaken traders can be summoned at space outposts, where those finds become currency for their unusual collections of corvette modules.

The rewards include biomechanical hull parts, new cockpits and habitation modules. That gives the scavenging a concrete purpose: find something horrible, then use the proceeds to make your ship look deliberately horrible. The new Hornet-Class cockpit leans into an insect-like design, while the Vantage-Class cockpit offers a broad view of space.

There is a risk attached to the collection work. Hello Games warns that prolonged exposure to the mementos can attract hostile boundary horrors. The Larva Cannon Multi-Tool requires preserved grubs, and dedicated memento hunters can earn a Larva Tank helmet appearance. Plan around those requirements when deciding which reward to pursue.

Space deliveries have an equipment requirement

The new courier missions start at deep-space outposts. Before setting out to become the galaxy's least conventional delivery driver, check your equipment: the patch notes require a corvette and a Gravitino Coil. Check both before heading for the contract terminal.

That distinction matters when deciding what to try first. If you already have the necessary setup, the contracts offer another use for it. If you do not, the weapon-selection and navigation changes are separate reasons to investigate the update without pretending the courier work is immediately available to every save.

A quieter screen and a less fussy Multi-Tool

Multi-Tool modes can now be selected through a radial menu. The practical appeal is straightforward: choose the mode you want instead of cycling through modes to reach it.

Minimal HUD mode reduces elements including the compass, hazard protection display and mission notifications, and hides nonessential markers. Hello Games positions it particularly for experienced players. It is worth checking if the interface gets between you and the scenery, but a cleaner screen means accepting less information in view. Read the setting before treating it as the obvious choice for a new Traveller.

Patch 7.11: Steam first, other platforms still listed as coming

In its October 29 announcement, Hello Games says patch 7.11 is live on Steam and coming to other platforms as soon as possible. It lists fixes for a crash when using the Space Anomaly teleporter and a crash while warping to another system. That is the developer's published status checked October 30, not confirmation that every console has received the patch.

The Forsaken launch announcement also introduces the iPhone and iPad release and a free opening portion to try. Check the App Store listing for device compatibility and the terms for continuing on mobile.
