An Adventure Inside Bolt’s TV World
Bolt does not simply replay the animated film. Instead, it presents one of the action stories filmed for the in-universe television series, with Bolt and Penny working to rescue Penny’s father from Dr. Calico. That framing lets the game treat Bolt’s powers as real from the opening mission and move directly into a globe-spanning secret-agent adventure. Across 25 missions, control shifts between the two heroes so that each stage can emphasize a different style of play.
Superpowered Combat
Bolt’s missions center on crowd-fighting and environmental action. Regular melee combinations handle nearby enemies, while energy-limited superpowers deliver heavier effects when a group or tougher target needs to be cleared. His abilities include forceful ground attacks, rapid movement, and a powerful bark, giving combat a broad, animated feel. Encounters reward positioning and power management rather than relying on one repeated strike, and destructible objects help sell the exaggerated television-show setting.
Stealth and Gadget Work
Penny’s stages trade brute force for movement, observation, and timing. She crosses gaps with her wheelbar tool, uses enhanced vision to identify useful routes and enemy sight lines, and slips behind guards for quiet takedowns. If she is spotted, quick-response sequences can decide whether she escapes the confrontation. Computer terminals lead to a separate hacking game in which a probe fights hostile drones, adding a compact shooter-style challenge between platforming sections. Bolt is designed as a single-player adventure, with the two characters alternating as the campaign calls for their particular strengths.
