About the Game
Set in ancient China, Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires brings the Empire mode to the latest game in the Dynasty Warriors series, while the basic hack and slash, button mashing gameplay remains the same. The Empire mode adds a strategic overlay to the base game, with a map of 25 areas to conquer.
Story & Setting
There are 4 scenarios to unlock, though they offer little to differentiate from each other.
Gameplay & Core Systems
Each turn consists of two parts: empire control, and war making. There is two player split-screen co-op, in either Empire or Free play modes.
Standout Features
- Your territories bring you tax revenue each turn, which you can spend on various actions, such as creating items and tactics for your generals to use in battle, recruiting generals and troops, or fortifying your territories, among many other options.
- You can wage war on other territories, or may be called upon to defend your own.

Player support includes Co-Op.
Presentation & Atmosphere
Next to the soundtrack of the base game, this edition also adds soundtracks from previous titles, including Dynasty Warriors 2 , Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 4 .
Display support includes Progressive Scan (480p), HDTV 720p, and HDTV 1080i. Audio support includes Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital 5.1.
