About the Game
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes rebuilds Solid Snake’s Shadow Moses mission for Nintendo GameCube. FOXHOUND has seized a nuclear disposal facility and threatens a strike unless its demands are met, sending Snake into an isolated base filled with patrols, surveillance systems and heavily armed bosses. The story follows the structure and characters of the original Metal Gear Solid, but its environments, voice recording and cinematic direction were recreated for this release.
Stealth & Tactical Options
Staying unnoticed is usually safer than fighting. Snake can watch guard routes, crawl through vents, create distractions, use the radar and hide bodies or himself before an alert escalates. The remake incorporates movement and aiming systems associated with Metal Gear Solid 2, including first-person weapon aiming, hanging from ledges, rolling, hiding in lockers and using a tranquilizer pistol. Those additions give familiar rooms new tactical possibilities without changing the central objective of infiltrating the facility, rescuing hostages and preventing the launch threat.
GameCube Edition
This is a one-player, story-driven stealth game with no multiplayer or online-service dependency. Its two-disc physical format advances through the same campaign rather than separating the game into unrelated modes. Progressive-scan output and Dolby Pro Logic II support are available on compatible equipment. Silicon Knights and Konami Computer Entertainment Japan developed the remake, with Konami publishing the North American GameCube release on March 9, 2004. It is rated M for Mature. The Twin Snakes is best approached as a GameCube reinterpretation of the 1998 story: it retains the espionage premise and boss structure while adding more flexible controls, updated presentation and newly staged action sequences.
