NBA 2K20
Full-Court Basketball on Nintendo Switch
NBA 2K20 brings Visual Concepts’ basketball simulation to Nintendo Switch with licensed NBA teams, broadcast-style presentation, and a deep set of ways to play. On the court, success comes from timing jump shots, creating space with dribble moves, calling screens, working the post, and reading defensive assignments. The game also introduced all 12 WNBA teams to the series, available in exhibition and season play.
Careers, Seasons, and Team Management
MyCAREER lets you create a player, move through a cinematic story, practice, and develop attributes over the course of a professional career. MyGM 2.0 adds narrative interactions and front-office decisions, while MyLEAGUE provides a more flexible sandbox for managing rosters, trades, finances, and multiple seasons. Play Now offers quicker matchups, and 2KU gives new players a place to learn controls and basketball concepts. The original release also featured MyTEAM and the Neighborhood, but those modes depended heavily on 2K’s online services.
Important Online-Service Notice
2K discontinued NBA 2K20’s servers on December 31, 2021. Ranked games, online leagues, online head-to-head play, MyTEAM, and other features that require live servers or Virtual Currency no longer function. This listing therefore focuses on the remaining offline experience and does not promise access to retired online content.
Local Play and Switch Edition
On one Nintendo Switch system, one to four players can compete in supported TV or tabletop play; handheld mode supports one player. This North American standard edition was released on September 6, 2019, and comes on a Nintendo Switch Game Card. It is rated E for Everyone with Mild Language; the original rating also notes Users Interact and In-Game Purchases, which describe the game as released rather than current server availability.
