Wave Race 64: Kawasaki Jet Ski
About the Game
Wave Race 64: Kawasaki Jet Ski turns personal-watercraft racing into a contest against both rivals and the water itself. Four riders have different strengths in speed, handling and stability, while the courses add moving waves, changing weather and visibility that can alter a familiar route from one lap to the next. The water reacts to racers and terrain, so steering through chop feels different from carving across a calm straight.
Racing the Buoys
Each course is marked by red and yellow buoys that must be passed on the indicated side. Following the pattern builds power and preserves speed; missing too many gates leads to penalties and eventual disqualification. That rule creates a constant choice between taking a tight, efficient line and leaving enough room to handle the next wave. Rider settings can be adjusted to emphasize grip, acceleration, top speed, handling or resistance to collisions.
Modes & Progression
Championship mode links events into a points competition across increasing difficulty levels. Time Trials strip away the field for clean laps, while Stunt Mode scores flips, rolls, handstands and other tricks within a time limit. Warm Up at Dolphin Park provides space to learn the controls, and two-player VS. offers split-screen racing on one console.
Courses & Atmosphere
Nine courses range from bright beaches and city waterfronts to colder, rougher conditions. Fog, waves, ramps and course layouts give each venue its own rhythm, while the announcer and buoy calls keep the race readable at speed. It remains a technically distinctive Nintendo 64 racer: easy to understand, demanding to master and built around responsive water physics rather than a conventional road surface.
