Television Stunts and Platforming Chaos
Wipeout: Create & Crash brings the obstacle-course mayhem of the US game show TV series Wipeout directly to the Nintendo Wii. Taking center stage under the stadium lights, players take on the role of contestants completing obstacle courses with a wide variety of hazards. Success requires reading mechanical traps, timing leaps across kinetic platforms, and managing wild wipeouts as you guide your contestant through gauntlet after gauntlet. Keeping the broadcast energy lively from the booth, commentary is provided by John Anderson and John Henson, delivering spoken reactions and banter as runners attempt to survive each treacherous stretch of the course.
Single-Player Progression and Customization
Stepping into solo competition offers a steady path of progression and tangible rewards for enduring the bruising obstacle runs. In the single-player mode Ballsy Bucks can be earned as a currency. Tackling stages and finishing challenging course layouts builds up your wallet, providing direct incentive to replay courses and improve individual performance. Once collected, it can be traded for new costumes and customization items for the characters, allowing you to revamp your contestant's wardrobe, unlock fresh thematic styles, and personalize your roster before jumping back out onto the course.
Multiplayer, Max Mode, and Course Creation
Beyond standard solo runs, the game delivers distinct competitive modes suited for group gatherings or extreme platforming trials. There is a Party Mode for local, side-by-side multiplayer, giving friends the opportunity to challenge each other directly in shared physical competition and see who can cross the finish line with fewer calamitous crashes. For runners seeking an unpredictable escalation, the game includes a Max mode for difficulty-increasing, randomly-generated levels, ensuring layouts shift constantly and challenge player reflexes as the danger ramps upward. When premade gauntlets are not enough, it also includes a course designer where new, custom courses can be designed, handing full creative freedom over to you to arrange hazards, set up diabolical platform sequences, and stage entirely original obstacle courses for your contestants to brave.
