The desert sounds like the wrong place to worry about darkness. Amnesia: Rebirth starts with Tasi Trianon in Algeria, then makes that apparently straightforward sense of place part of a much less straightforward journey.
Our Halloween recommendation is to give the journey your attention before demanding the next monster encounter. The setting, the missing pieces of Tasi's past and the act of working out how to proceed belong to the horror. This feature stays with the publisher's premise and promotional locations rather than explaining late revelations.

A cockpit gives confusion a recognisable shape
Frictional Games' official press description introduces Tasi waking in the Algerian desert and trying to retrace what happened. This is a different geographical frame from the castle setting of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The character needs context as well as a route forward.
The supplied cockpit image contains controls, windows and a recognisable seat arrangement. You can identify the kind of place before you understand its condition. Our reading is that this makes an effective visual anchor for a story whose protagonist is missing pieces of her past.
A cockpit carries expectations about direction and human control. A damaged one leaves those expectations sitting awkwardly beside what you can see. Notice the enclosure and the view through the glass. Those are visible features, rather than proof of a hidden plot event.

A small light gives looking a boundary
The featured image shows a hand holding a burning match beside a candle. Nearby objects and textures become legible while the rest of the setting still asks for interpretation. That is more specific than simply making the whole picture dark.
In our view, a small light can supply information and an uncomfortable limit in the same frame. You can inspect part of a space without understanding all of it. The room seems to extend beyond the part you currently know.
Compare that composition with the cockpit. One starts with a familiar human arrangement. The other asks you to read a patch of a much less certain environment. These are different visual invitations, even before a creature or a puzzle supplies another reason to pay attention.
The tunnel narrows the question
The inline tunnel image places lantern light inside a dark passage. Its visible route has a different shape from the match-lit room. Our interpretation is that changing the shape of a location keeps uncertainty from depending on one repeated trick.
A confined passage draws attention ahead. A damaged cockpit asks what has happened to a recognisable space. A small circle of light makes you wonder what the rest of the room contains. None requires a caption that reveals the next event.

The game still asks you to act
The current PC description connects exploration and puzzles with limited resources, avoiding darkness and hiding from creatures. The environments belong to a game with pressure and decisions, rather than a collection of atmospheric stills.
For a first visit, let a location establish itself before opening a walkthrough. Identify the particular detail that has you stuck, then seek help with that question if needed. A complete explanation of the scene may answer much more than the one practical question that stopped you.
For a shared Halloween session, leave room for the scene's own sounds and dialogue. A debate afterwards can be entertaining. A debate over the top of the information everybody needs is mostly an impressive method of making the mystery harder.
Choose the experience deliberately
The Steam page lists Adventure Mode as an option for a less frightening experience. This article is about the game's setting and investigation, not a detailed comparison of every mode's rules. Check the current mode description rather than assuming that a lighter option removes every disturbing theme.
Our recommendation is to decide what you want from Halloween before deciding how much pressure to invite. Wanting the story and environments is a valid reason to pick a game. Wanting the pursuit and uncertainty is another. Neither requires pretending that everybody in the room enjoys the same thing.
The page dates the PC release to October 20, 2020. This is an established horror adventure being revisited for Halloween, not a new release today. The images are original developer press screenshots; they do not document a fresh Zypher playthrough or a particular player's chosen settings.
