About the Game
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is an open-world role-playing adventure set in ancient Greece during the conflict between Athens and Sparta. Choose Kassandra or Alexios and begin a mercenary's journey across islands, cities, mountain country, and the Aegean Sea. Exploration, character progression, and decisions shape an adventure that moves between personal discovery and the wider struggles of a divided Greek world.
Story & Setting
Your character's Spartan roots connect a search for family and identity with the rivalries surrounding the Peloponnesian War. Dialogue choices influence relationships and how some quests unfold, allowing you to express a different approach to the people you meet. The setting invites you to move between major historical centers, smaller settlements, and remote landscapes, with side stories and discoveries giving those places their own character.
Combat & Character Progression
Combat combines direct weapon fighting with stealth and abilities tied to the Spear of Leonidas. New equipment, upgrades, and ability choices let you develop your character around the way you prefer to fight. You can approach a hostile location quietly, use the terrain to plan an attack, or confront enemies openly. Mercenary hunters respond to your growing notoriety, while large Conquest Battles place you within the struggle between the two major factions.
Naval Exploration
The Adrestia makes the sea part of the adventure. Sailing connects the islands and coastline, and naval encounters call for a different rhythm from combat on land. Upgrading the ship and recruiting crew members support your journey as you explore the Aegean, engage enemy vessels, and discover what lies along the shores and beneath the water.
