Battlefield 3 on Xbox 360
Online service update: Battlefield 3 online services on Xbox 360 ended on November 7, 2024. Online multiplayer and online co-op have closed. The game's single-player campaign remains playable.
A Campaign Told Through Flashbacks
Battlefield 3 follows Marine Sergeant Henry Blackburn, whose CIA interrogation frames a story about a looming nuclear terrorist attack. His account of past missions leads into a conflict involving the PLR and the terrorist Solomon. The military action moves between infantry fighting and cinematic set pieces.
Difficulty & Mission Replay
Easy, Normal, and Hard settings change the challenge of the campaign. Hard increases the damage taken from enemy fire and turns off aim assistance. Once you finish a mission, you can return to it at another difficulty instead of restarting the entire story.
Original Online Features
The original game included team-based multiplayer and separate two-player co-op missions. Those online modes and their progression features are no longer available on Xbox 360 following the shutdown.
