About the Game

Driven adapts the open-wheel racing drama of the 2001 film into a GameCube game centered on rookie driver Jimmy Bly, veteran Joe Tanto, and their Team Spirit rivals. Story mode follows the season through race events tied to the film’s characters and locations, while Arcade play offers direct access to unlocked drivers and tracks without the campaign structure.

Racing & The Zone

Each driver has attributes that influence speed and handling, so car behavior changes with the selected competitor. Races take place on eight circuits, including street courses inspired by Angel’s Bay and the Champs-Élysées. The central performance mechanic is “The Zone.” Clean, focused driving builds access to this heightened state, temporarily sharpening the sense of speed and rewarding players who maintain control rather than relying only on contact.

Story objectives and standard races are joined by separate challenge events that vary the immediate goal. The game uses a conventional GameCube controller and supports manual saving to a memory card. Dolby Surround audio is available on compatible equipment.

Local Multiplayer

One or two players can race locally through split-screen multiplayer. Competitive and team-based options provide alternatives to the solo story, and the game does not require an online service. This North American GameCube release was developed by BAM! Studios Europe and published by BAM! Entertainment. It arrived on March 26, 2002 and is rated T for Teen. The result is a film-licensed arcade racer focused on short events, recognizable characters, and the pressure of keeping a fast open-wheel car composed through crowded city circuits.
