About the Game
Enter the Matrix follows Niobe and Ghost, captain and first mate of the Logos, through events that run alongside The Matrix Reloaded. The two characters pursue separate routes through the same larger operation, meeting familiar figures and revealing story material created for the game. Its original live-action sequences were written and directed by the Wachowskis, making the campaign a companion narrative rather than a retelling of Neo’s film journey.
Combat, Focus & Movement
Play combines third-person gunfights, martial-arts combat, platforming, driving, and on-rails shooting. Niobe and Ghost can run along walls, climb, strafe, disarm enemies, and combine punches, kicks, throws, and firearms. Focus slows the action, letting a character dodge bullets, close distance, perform acrobatic moves, or gain a better angle on an opponent. Because Focus is limited, using it well matters most during crowded fights and demanding traversal sequences.
The choice of protagonist changes missions and emphasis. Niobe’s route highlights her driving skill and close combat, while Ghost’s marksmanship shapes many of his encounters. Hacking is presented as a separate command-line system used to inspect files, uncover messages, unlock equipment, and alter certain game states, rewarding players who explore beyond the main path.
GameCube Edition
This North American GameCube version is a one-player, two-disc release with no multiplayer or online-service requirement. It supports progressive-scan output and Dolby Pro Logic II audio on compatible equipment. Developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Atari, it released on May 15, 2003 and is rated T for Teen for Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence.
