Just Dance 2017 asks players to mirror the performer on screen while holding a Wii Remote, earning points as the game recognizes movement in time with the music. The Wii edition includes more than 40 songs spanning pop, dance and family-friendly novelty tracks. Clear pictograms preview upcoming moves, while the animated coaches and themed stages give every routine its own visual identity.

Dance alone or with a local group

The saved Wii technical record supports one to four offline players on the same screen, with cooperative and competitive play depending on the selected routine or mode. Each participant needs a Wii Remote for simultaneous scored play. The Wii release does not require a camera, smartphone controller or Wii Balance Board for the documented core experience, and this description does not import controller features from later platforms.

Build a session with modes that change the goal

Dance Quest organizes routines into themed challenges, providing a structured alternative to selecting one track at a time. Sweat + Playlists lets players group songs into a workout-oriented session and track the intensity of a longer dance set. Scores and feedback encourage repeat performances as players learn cue timing, improve consistency and pursue stronger results across the included track list.

Colorful presentation and accessible movement

The series' high-contrast dancers, bold backgrounds and readable move prompts keep attention on choreography rather than menus. The ESRB describes play as matching the movements of on-screen dancers to music, and rates this Wii version E10+ for Mild Lyrics. Routines can still be enjoyed casually, but higher scores reward accurate timing and a closer match to the coach.

Current Wii service status

Ubisoft lists Just Dance 2017's Wii online services as retired on November 19, 2018. Offline songs and local modes remain playable, but online multiplayer, news, statistics, Units, Challenges and online unlockable content should not be represented as currently available.
