The Original Trilogy, Rebuilt in LEGO
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy retells Episodes IV, V and VI as a playful action-platforming adventure. From the Mos Eisley cantina hub, the story moves through familiar locations and set pieces with the series’ silent visual comedy intact. Characters, vehicles and scenery are built from LEGO pieces, so the movies’ largest moments become approachable puzzles, slapstick encounters and destructible brick environments.
Character Abilities and Free Play
Progress depends on using the right hero for each obstacle. Jedi wield lightsabers and the Force, blaster characters attack from range, droids open specialized doors, and bounty hunters reach places that other characters cannot. Story chapters combine combat, platforming and simple environmental puzzles with longer vehicle sequences. Completing a chapter opens Free Play, where unlocked characters can revisit it to reach routes and collectibles that the original story team could not access. Studs, minikits and power bricks provide reasons to explore beyond the direct objective, while the custom-character feature lets players combine unlocked LEGO parts into new figures.
Local Cooperative Play
The GameCube version supports one or two players locally. In solo play, the computer handles the second active character and the player can switch when a different ability is needed. A second player can join the adventure for cooperative story and Free Play sessions on the same console. This North American release was developed by Traveller’s Tales, published by LucasArts and TT Games Publishing, and released September 12, 2006. It is rated E10+ for Cartoon Violence and Crude Humor. Progressive-scan display and Dolby Pro Logic II audio are supported; all multiplayer play is offline.
