Conan Exiles is getting a free Enhanced upgrade on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027. Funcom announced the console versions on October 27. The upgrade is welcome news for existing owners, but ownership is only one part of the announcement.
There is no exact launch day yet. This is a future console release, and some of the most useful information is about what happens to ownership, servers and saves when it arrives. A nicer-looking fortress is appealing. Knowing whether the fortress makes the trip is rather more urgent.

Free upgrade, with an expansion still sold separately
Funcom's October 27 announcement confirms free upgrades from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. Its PlayStation announcement also says purchases of the PS4 or PS5 version will include access to the other version, with purchased Bazaar items and DLC carrying forward from PS4.
The promised improvements cover environments, characters, lighting, effects, interface, performance and quality of life. Those are announced changes, not measured console performance results. Funcom also says the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc will be included at the Enhanced console launch.
Isle of Siptah remains a separate purchase. The expansion's closer integration with the Exiled Lands should not be read as a promise that every base-game owner receives the expansion free. An upgrade entitlement and an expansion entitlement answer different questions.
Cross-play comes after launch
The publisher currently places full cross-play soon after launch. Do not schedule a cross-platform reunion around day-one support. No date for that feature is given in the checked announcement.
Our advice is to separate enthusiasm for the upgrade from plans that depend on another feature arriving. A group can decide it wants to return without pretending every member's preferred connection method has already been delivered.

Read the migration limits before moving a save
Funcom's console FAQ says Enhanced will be a separate game from Legacy. Official Exiled Lands servers will transition, preserving characters, followers and bases. Isle of Siptah bases cannot be preserved because integration changes the island's coordinates.
Single-player saves can move to Enhanced, but cannot then reopen in Legacy. Legacy will retain single-player and private-server play, while losing official servers and Bazaar access. Crom Coins move forward to Enhanced and will no longer work in Legacy; purchases made in Enhanced will not apply backward.
Our practical recommendation is to identify your play setup now: official Exiled Lands, Siptah, single-player or private server. Those categories have different consequences. Wait for the promised preparation instructions before treating a conversion as reversible or assuming a private server follows the official-server process.
This is especially relevant if your favorite part of Conan Exiles is the place you built. A server transition is more than a graphics toggle when the location of that place changes. Keep the publisher's migration guidance beside the trailer when deciding how and when to return.

Get your next Conan adventure from Zypher. Check our Conan Exiles PS4 listing for the actual platform, condition and included contents. It is the existing PS4 game, not a newly stocked PS5 Enhanced edition. Funcom has announced the upgrade, but the checked announcement does not spell out the disc-license procedure. Confirm those instructions and your console's ability to use the purchased format before buying specifically for the future upgrade.
