ARK: Survival Evolved
About the Game
ARK: Survival Evolved is a single-player and multiplayer open-world survival game. Players awaken on the shores of a mysterious island populated by prehistoric creatures, natural hazards, and remnants of advanced technology. With no memory of how they arrived, survivors must gather resources, build shelter, and tame the world’s dangerous wildlife in order to endure and eventually uncover the secrets of the ARK. The core gameplay revolves around managing hunger, thirst, stamina, health, and body temperature.
Gameplay & Core Systems
Players collect raw materials like wood, stone, and fiber to craft tools, weapons, and clothing. Progression comes through experience points earned from gathering, crafting, hunting, and exploration, which can be spent to increase character attributes or unlock new crafting recipes called engrams. Combat uses both melee and ranged weapons, and survival often depends on preparing equipment and learning enemy patterns before engaging hostile creatures or rival players. One of the defining systems is taming and breeding creatures. Dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals can be subdued and domesticated, then used as mounts, pack animals, or combat allies.
