About the Game
Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition adapts Rocksteady’s open-world Batman adventure for Wii U with GamePad-specific systems developed by WB Games Montréal. A section of Gotham has been sealed into Arkham City, a sprawling prison district controlled by criminals and watched over by the mysterious Hugo Strange. Batman enters to uncover Strange’s Protocol 10 plan while conflicts involving the Joker, Two-Face, Penguin, Mr. Freeze and other familiar foes pull the investigation in several directions.
Gameplay & Exploration
The game combines free-flow melee combat, predator-style stealth and detective work across an interconnected urban map. Batman can counter groups of attackers, chain strikes, deploy gadgets without breaking a combo and stalk armed enemies from gargoyles, vents and destructible cover. Main missions are joined by Riddler challenges, side cases and combat or predator challenge rooms. Catwoman also has playable story segments with her own movement, combat and objectives, adding a different rhythm to the campaign.
Armored Edition Features
The Wii U GamePad serves as Batman’s Batcomputer. Its screen provides a real-time map, evidence scanning, gadget selection and equipment management without opening a separate pause menu. Motion and touch functions are used for tasks such as steering a Batarang, analyzing crime scenes and hacking locks. The edition also adds Battle Armored Tech mode: successful combat stores kinetic energy that Batman or Catwoman can release for a temporary damage boost. Off-TV Play allows the full game to run on the GamePad screen.
This is a one-player action-adventure. It is designed around a complete solo campaign rather than online multiplayer, so no current network service is required for the core game.
