BioShock: The Collection
Return to Rapture and Columbia
BioShock: The Collection brings three complete single-player journeys together on PlayStation 4: BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, and BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition. Across the trilogy, you explore two unforgettable dystopian cities—Rapture beneath the Atlantic and Columbia high above the clouds—while uncovering the ambitions, betrayals, and ideologies that shaped them.
Although each campaign tells its own story, they share a first-person blend of shooting, exploration, environmental storytelling, and supernatural abilities. Combat rewards experimentation: conventional firearms handle immediate threats, while Plasmids or Vigors let you shock, burn, freeze, possess, or reposition enemies and interact with the environment in more creative ways.
How the Trilogy Plays
Every game balances direct combat with resource management and character growth. Ammunition, health, ability fuel, and upgrade currency matter, especially when you search optional rooms or take on stronger enemies. Audio diaries, visual details, and hidden spaces fill in the history of each city, so careful exploration reveals far more than the main route alone.
- Weapons and powers work together: stun an enemy before attacking, control a crowd with an area effect, or use the environment to create an advantage.
- Upgrades shape your approach: improve weapons, expand ability options, and equip passive bonuses suited to combat, survival, exploration, or resource efficiency.
- Distinct settings change the rhythm: Rapture emphasizes tense corridors and decaying Art Deco spaces, while Columbia opens into brighter arenas built around vertical movement and Sky-Lines.
- Story and exploration stay central: optional recordings, side areas, and environmental clues add context to the characters and political ideas behind each world.
Three Complete Campaigns
BioShock Remastered
After a plane crash in the Atlantic, Jack discovers Rapture, an underwater city founded as a radical escape from government, religion, and conventional morality. The experiment has collapsed into violence. You move through flooded districts, laboratories, theaters, and industrial spaces while fighting genetically altered residents and deciding how to deal with the Little Sisters protected by towering Big Daddies.
BioShock 2 Remastered
Set years later, the second game returns to Rapture from the perspective of Subject Delta, an early Big Daddy searching for the Little Sister once bonded to him. Its combat is built for pressure: weapons and Plasmids can be used together, and defensive encounters ask you to prepare traps, choose positions, and hold off waves of enemies while protecting a Little Sister.
BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition
Private investigator Booker DeWitt travels to Columbia to retrieve Elizabeth, a young woman whose ability to open Tears can reveal supplies, cover, weapons, or alternate spaces during combat. Infinite emphasizes mobility and momentum through Sky-Line travel, Vigors, firearms, and open combat arenas. Elizabeth supports the journey without needing escort commands, while the story gradually connects Columbia’s conflict to the broader BioShock universe.
Progression and Included Single-Player Content
The trilogy offers different upgrade systems without losing its shared identity. In Rapture, ADAM unlocks and improves Plasmids and Gene Tonics, while Power to the People stations strengthen individual weapons. BioShock 2 expands the formula with simultaneous weapon-and-Plasmid combat. BioShock Infinite uses Vigors, weapon upgrades, and equippable Gear to support aggressive, defensive, or mobility-focused play.
Official PlayStation materials state that the collection contains the three single-player campaigns, all single-player add-on content, the Columbia’s Finest pack, and Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock featuring Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson. Major story additions include Minerva’s Den for BioShock 2 and both episodes of Burial at Sea for BioShock Infinite. This is a one-player collection; it does not include a multiplayer mode.

BioShock and BioShock 2 are presented in remastered form, while BioShock Infinite appears as its complete edition. PlayStation describes the collection as remastered in 1080p. The North American PS4 package identifies one-player offline play, DUALSHOCK 4 vibration, Remote Play support, and a 59 GB minimum storage requirement. The PS4 version is also playable on PS5 through backward compatibility, although Sony notes that some PS4 features may be absent and current system software may be required.
The original North American physical release uses two game discs. Because Zypher offers multiple condition tiers, the exact case, insert, and disc contents depend on the condition selected; check the chosen variant’s condition details before ordering.
