Enter a first-person professional boxing career
Don King Boxing places the fighter inside the ring from a first-person viewpoint, using Wii motion controls for a more physical interpretation of jabs, hooks, uppercuts and signature punches. The career is framed by a story mode about rising toward a heavyweight championship, with licensed and fictional opponents standing between the player and the title.
Move both hands and read the opponent
The Wii Remote and Nunchuk act as separate hands, so offense depends on choosing the right punch and timing it against an opening. Impact is emphasized with sharp sound, screen movement and slow-motion effects. Defensive movement matters as well: players can duck and dodge with standard controls, while an optional Wii Balance Board adds body movement for evasive actions.
The Balance Board is optional
Take-Two’s exact Wii announcement is explicit that the Wii Balance Board adds another way to play but is not required, and that it was sold separately with Wii Fit. That distinction matters for a used physical listing: a buyer can play with the supported Wii Remote and Nunchuk setup without expecting the board to be in the game case.
Train in Boxercise and develop the boxer
Boxercise draws on routines created with Don King and his staff. The exercises function as a workout for the player while also improving the in-game boxer’s skills for the next match. Story progression, training and bouts therefore connect rather than existing as unrelated menu choices.
Licensed fighters, recognizable venues and local competition
The roster contains more than 20 licensed boxers alongside fictional opposition, and publisher materials name Madison Square Garden, Boardwalk Hall and Trump Taj Mahal among the venues. Multiplayer provides same-room competition; the accepted exact Wii record supports one or two offline players. ESRB lists no interactive elements, and no online mode is claimed.
Exact Wii release and content rating
This listing is the North American Wii release launched March 31, 2009 and published by 2K Games under the 2K Sports label. ESRB rates it T for Teen with Mild Lyrics, Mild Suggestive Themes, Tobacco Reference and Violence. The game also uses live professional-boxing clips, including knockouts, alongside its simulated bouts.
