Stand Together Against the Alien Horde
Earthfall: Deluxe Edition is a cooperative first-person shooter set after a meteor strike leaves the Pacific Northwest overrun by hostile extraterrestrials. You join a four-person resistance squad and push through ruined towns, wilderness routes and fortified holdouts while uncovering what happened to the region. The action is built around short, objective-driven stages: move as a group, search for supplies, survive sudden attacks and secure the next safe area before the horde overwhelms the team.
Four-Player Co-op or Solo With AI
The squad supports up to four players online, with drop-in, drop-out play designed around coordinated positioning and shared survival. If you play alone, computer-controlled teammates fill the remaining roles, so the campaign does not require a full human group. Enemy composition and placement are driven by a dynamic spawning system, which can change the pressure from one run to the next. Standard drones arrive in numbers while tougher alien types can disrupt the formation, separate a survivor from the group or force the team to abandon a comfortable firing position.
Scavenge, Print and Fortify
Earthfall mixes conventional gunplay with portable defenses. Weapons and supplies are found while exploring, and 3D printers can produce additional firearms when the squad locates a usable station. Barricades control entry points, mounted turrets add sustained firepower and defensive equipment can turn an exposed room into a temporary stronghold. These tools matter most during holdout objectives, where the group has time to read the space, choose likely attack routes and build a layered defense before the next wave arrives.
The campaign moves across varied Pacific Northwest locations and combines travel, rescue, defense and escape objectives. The current PlayStation listing describes 15 story levels and optional online play. Each section advances the invasion story while keeping the focus on squad movement, resource management and repeated pressure rather than competitive player-versus-player combat.
What the Deluxe Edition Adds
This North American physical listing is the Deluxe Edition. The edition pairs the full game with the Hazmat Pack, which adds four character outfits and biohazard-themed weapon skins. Physical copies originally relied on bonus-content redemption material, and surviving codes may already be used or expired. The disc remains the core game; the presence or usability of the Hazmat Pack is not guaranteed with a pre-owned copy.
PlayStation 4 Requirements
Offline play supports one player with AI teammates. Online sessions support two to four network players and require a PlayStation Plus membership; online play is optional. The PlayStation Store also lists DUALSHOCK 4 support, Remote Play and a 10 GB minimum save-size requirement. Sony currently lists the PS4 title as playable on PS5 through backward compatibility, while noting that updated system software may be required and some PS4 features may be unavailable.
