Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer
About the Game
Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer brings Activision's surfing series to Game Boy Advance in a purpose-built handheld edition developed by HotGen. Choose Kelly Slater or one of eight other professional surfers, then chase high scores on waves inspired by well-known breaks around the world. The presentation is compact and side-scrolling, keeping the rider, wave face, and next scoring opportunity readable on the smaller screen.
Gameplay & Core Systems
Each run is a timed chance to build a score by landing surfing maneuvers and connecting them into larger combinations. The challenge comes from reading the moving wave, choosing when to stay on its face, and deciding when a more ambitious trick is worth the risk. Different locations change the shape and pace of the ride, so successful play depends on more than repeating the same move. The result is an arcade-style sports game with a relaxed surfing theme but a clear score-chasing rhythm.
Progression & Modes
Championship mode supplies the main structured path. You compete against eight computer-controlled surfers across twelve stages, with three heats in each stage. Scores are totaled across the heats, and a top-three finish advances you to the next event. Challenge mode shifts the focus to objectives at individual locations, while Drop In removes the tournament structure for immediate surfing. Together, the three options support both longer progression sessions and quick attempts at a better run.
Roster, Locations & Multiplayer
The professional roster includes Kelly Slater, Lisa Andersen, Tom Carroll, Tom Curren, Nathan Fletcher, Donavon Frankenreiter, Bruce Irons, Rob Machado, and Kalani Robb, with additional characters to discover. Courses draw on breaks such as Pipeline, Mavericks, Teahupoo, Bells, and J-Bay, giving the tour a globe-spanning identity without burying the action in a story.
Two-player head-to-head competition is supported locally. It requires two Game Boy Advance systems, a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable, and a separate copy of the game for each player; there is no online mode.
