Finish the LEGO Harry Potter story

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 adapts the final three books and final four films into a handheld LEGO adventure. Harry, Hermione, Ron and their allies move toward the final confrontation with Lord Voldemort while familiar events are retold with brick-built scenery, visual humor and a large cast of unlockable witches and wizards.

A distinct handheld campaign

The Nintendo 3DS version tells its story through 14 chapters made of smaller levels with puzzles tailored to the handheld design. Players move through each area, collect studs and other secrets, solve environmental problems and defeat occasional enemies. This structure should not be confused with the broader console edition or its differently counted story events.

Match abilities to each puzzle

Magic users can cast spells such as Wingardium Leviosa to move objects and Stupefy to stun enemies. Other characters contribute abilities such as super strength, pet control, prank items or Spectrespecs that reveal hidden LEGO pieces. Progress often depends on recognizing which member of the cast can interact with the next obstacle, while collectible character tokens expand the roster for later play.

Cast, charge and duel

The Circle Pad or D-pad moves the active character, and the face buttons handle jumping, spell casting and other actions. A spell can be fired quickly or charged before release. One-on-one Wizard Duels add a focused battle format in which the player aims left or right, casts charged spells and deflects an opponent's attacks. The touch screen mainly serves as an options display, with optional input during duels.

Collect rewards around Hogwarts

Levels hide character tokens, wizard hats, LEGO studs and Red Bricks that open more characters and rewards. Hogwarts acts as a central hub for viewing progress and customizing a LEGO character. The North American Nintendo 3DS release supports one offline player and is rated E10+ for Cartoon Violence and Comic Mischief.

StreetPass and current service status

The game includes a StreetPass feature that exchanges player data for Wizard Duels between nearby Nintendo 3DS systems. Nintendo confirms that StreetPass uses local communication and remains available after the wider 3DS online shutdown. Online play and most other online communication functions for Nintendo 3DS software ended on April 8, 2024, so no internet service is promised. This release requires a Nintendo 3DS family system; cartridge, case, inserts and any bonus material depend on the selected condition.
