Spyro: Reignited Trilogy
Three dragon adventures, from the Dragon Realms to Avalar
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy brings Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon together as three rebuilt adventures. The little purple dragon's attitude survives the transformation, while redesigned environments, refreshed cinematics, and newly recorded voices give familiar encounters a new look and sound. Across the collection, colorful worlds invite you to explore, collect, and master Spyro's movement rather than simply race toward the next exit.
Each adventure gives that exploration a different purpose. In Spyro the Dragon, Gnasty Gnorc has trapped the other dragons inside crystals, leaving Spyro and Sparx the Dragonfly to travel through the Dragon Realms and free them. Ripto's Rage! takes Spyro to Avalar, where an invading sorcerer and his minions have thrown the homeworlds into conflict. Year of the Dragon begins with stolen dragon eggs and sends you into the Forgotten Realms to challenge the Sorceress and her Rhynoc army. Following all three stories lets you see the series broaden its cast and challenges.
Charging, breathing fire, jumping, and gliding form the core of the action. Traversing a gap takes a different kind of attention from confronting an enemy, and searching for gems gives you a reason to revisit an overlooked route. Supercharge ramps add bursts of speed to certain platforming sequences, including the towering Tree Tops level. The collection mixes these movement challenges with bosses and airborne encounters, keeping the rhythm varied as you work through its many environments.
The remaster also offers choices for returning players. You can select either the original music or the remastered soundtrack through the options menu, then choose the Retro or Reignited controller layout. These options let you keep familiar elements while enjoying the rebuilt presentation. Progress saves automatically at checkpoints, so completing a challenge or finding another collectible contributes to an adventure you can continue across play sessions.
An internet connection may be needed for an initial game-content download, including content for Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, before the complete trilogy can be played. Activision confirms that once all levels have been downloaded to the console or hard drive, the adventures can be played offline without a continuing internet connection.
