Take the 2003 Turtles back to the streets
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adapts the 2003 animated television series into a cel-shaded beat-'em-up. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo battle the Foot Clan while Shredder pursues a mystical sword. The campaign moves from New York streets and sewers toward the Shinto Temple, using characters, voices and animated footage from the then-current show rather than the look of the earlier 1987 cartoon.
Choose a Turtle and build attack strings
Each brother carries his signature weapon and a different attack range. Basic strikes can be chained into combos, a strong attack changes the finisher, and launcher moves put enemies into the air for further hits. Jumping, dashing, throws and thrown shuriken help control groups or close distance. Enemy waves, environmental hazards and bosses keep the focus on clearing each section before the route forward opens.
Earn moves through dojo training
Story stages are divided into several combat areas and occasional dojo assignments from Splinter. Completing a timed training task can unlock a new technique or increase an attribute such as offense or defense for the selected Turtle. Progress is tracked separately for each brother, and finishing the main conflict with all four opens an additional final showdown. Scrolls, level clears and other discoveries also open characters and bonus options.
Play Story, Versus and Challenge modes
Story can be played alone or with a second local player. Player 1's chosen Turtle owns the saved campaign progress, while Player 2 assists and can change character after losing a life. Versus turns the combat system into one-on-one matches with the four brothers and unlockable fighters. Challenge mode is a separate timed test unlocked through Story progress. The GameCube version supports two players locally, not four-player cooperative play.
A cel-shaded episode you can fight through
Bold character models, comic-book impact words and voice performances match the 2003 show. Story scenes mix real-time dialogue with animated television footage, and music repeatedly works the series theme into the action. Period reviews praised the visual match while noting repetitive dialogue, long stages and camera trouble when two players separate, so this is best understood as a licensed arcade-style brawler rather than a deep technical fighting game.
