The Sims 4
Create the people at the center of your story
The Sims 4 gives you a household to create and a life story to direct. Design Sims with different appearances, clothing, personalities, and aspirations, then decide how they will spend their days. You can recreate familiar people, invent an entirely new family, or start with one Sim and see where the choices take them. Details such as a Sim's voice and walk style help give the character an identity beyond an outfit.
Traits and aspirations add another part of that identity. Social characteristics, interests, and emotional traits help define the people you create, while their emotions influence how they think and feel. Building a household means deciding who these Sims are as well as what you want them to accomplish. Their differences can become the starting point for a family story, a friendship, or a personal ambition.
Build a home and develop everyday skills
Home design is a major part of the experience. Build Mode lets you plan the layout, furnish rooms, and shape the space around your household's needs. A small first home can become a long-running design project as you rearrange rooms, try different decor, and work toward another idea. The game connects that creative work with your Sims' everyday lives, giving the home a purpose beyond its appearance.
Skills develop through practice. Preparing meals builds cooking ability, while conversations can help with charisma. A skill book offers another way to learn, and progress makes a Sim more capable at the activity they have been working on. That gives you concrete goals alongside broader aspirations: spend a day improving a hobby, make time for work, or arrange the home to support what a Sim wants to do.
Follow a career, a relationship, or your own idea
Guide relationships, pursue careers and aspirations, and explore the neighborhoods around your Sims. You can concentrate on family life and friendships, work toward a professional goal, or treat the household as the starting point for a story of your own. The choices let you alternate between managing a routine and seeing what develops from the people you created.
The Gallery offers inspiration from other players' Sims, homes, and designed rooms. Browsing a creation can suggest a different building project or a new kind of household to try. This is The Sims 4 base game for Xbox One. Game updates and Gallery features require internet access and the relevant account.
