The Wolf Among Us
A murder case in Fabletown
The Wolf Among Us gives familiar fairytale characters a dangerous new home in New York City. Exiled from their own lands, they live in Fabletown, a hidden community trying to remain unnoticed by ordinary people. You play Bigby Wolf, once known as the Big Bad Wolf and now the community's sheriff. What begins with a domestic disturbance becomes a murder investigation, drawing him into a case that puts both the residents and his own judgment under pressure.
Snow White helps keep this unusual society running, while figures such as Mr. Toad and one of the Three Little Pigs struggle with lives far removed from their storybook reputations. The setting combines myth, folklore and crime drama: these characters still have powers, histories and grudges, but now face the problems of surviving in a city that must never discover who they really are. Keeping order means dealing with people whose secrets can matter as much as the crime itself.
Shape Bigby's approach to the investigation
As Bigby moves through the story, you interact with people and objects, select dialogue responses and make decisions during tense encounters. Many conversations put a time limit on your answer. What he says, what he leaves unsaid and when he acts can affect the story. The sheriff's frightening past adds weight to those decisions: his authority can help him pursue the case, but using it means deciding how far he should go with the people he is meant to protect.
Action sequences require timed inputs and directional responses, bringing sudden physical danger into an investigation built around character interactions. The branching story can turn violent depending on the choices made along the way. That mix gives the adventure a shifting rhythm, moving from conversation and observation to confrontation without losing sight of Bigby's role in the case.
The complete first-season mystery
The five episodes are Faith, Smoke and Mirrors, A Crooked Mile, In Sheep's Clothing and Cry Wolf. Together they form the original season's murder mystery. An unlockable Book of Fables supplies additional background on the characters and their world, and checkpoint replay lets you revisit completed scenes to explore another decision.
Based on Bill Willingham's Fables comics, the game takes place before the first issue, giving newcomers a starting point without requiring prior reading. It suits players drawn to an adult detective story where the questions include both what happened and how a powerful, deeply flawed investigator should respond.
