Three more Game Boy games are headed to Nintendo Classics on October 27, 2026: Mole Mania, Avenging Spirit, and Pinball: Revenge of the ’Gator. Nintendo announced the trio in its official October update video on October 22. They are not live yet, so nobody needs to spend Friday hammering the refresh button like it owes them money.
The quick release details
- Release date: October 27, 2026
- Service: Game Boy – Nintendo Classics
- Hardware: Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
- Games: Mole Mania, Avenging Spirit, and Pinball: Revenge of the ’Gator
Nintendo’s official service page says the Game Boy library is included with any Nintendo Switch Online membership. In other words, this batch does not require the Expansion Pack tier.

Mole Mania is the headliner for puzzle fans
Mole Mania stars Muddy Mole, whose family has been captured by farmer Jinbe. Nintendo describes it as an action-puzzle game built around moving between the surface and underground routes, pushing objects, and finding the right path through each stage. The official game page also credits Shigeru Miyamoto as producer.
That underground mechanic is the important part. A wall that looks final on the surface may be something you can bypass from below. It gives the puzzles a second layer without turning every room into a spreadsheet wearing a Game Boy shell.

Avenging Spirit turns possession into the whole moveset
Avenging Spirit is the strange one, which is exactly why it belongs here. The player controls a spirit that can possess different characters and enemies, borrowing their attacks and abilities to move through the stages. That turns the available bodies into the game’s real tool kit. It is a platform action game where swapping hosts is not a side gimmick. It is the job.
The current official Nintendo Store description for the standalone Switch release confirms the possession system, platforming, and boss fights. The October 27 addition is the Game Boy version inside Nintendo Classics, not that separate storefront release.
Revenge of the Gator keeps pinball compact
Pinball: Revenge of the ’Gator packs its table across four scrolling screens and includes three bonus stages. Nintendo’s official description calls out extra balls and multipliers, plus the hungry gator waiting at the bottom to swallow a badly aimed shot. Game Boy pinball had no room for unnecessary furniture.
It also supports two players taking alternating turns. This is not simultaneous multiplayer, so one player works the table while the other gets the traditional pinball experience of watching a friend insist that the last drain absolutely did not count.

Digital access and cartridge ownership are different things
Nintendo Switch Online makes these games convenient to play, but the subscription is access, not ownership of an original cartridge. That distinction matters to collectors. A physical Game Boy copy can be played on compatible original hardware, displayed, traded, or kept without depending on an active membership. The digital library wins on convenience. The cartridge wins by continuing to exist after the subscription screen closes.
If Mole Mania earns a permanent spot on your shelf, check Zypher’s current physical listing for the exact condition and included items. You can also browse our Game Boy collection, or use the Zypher Buy List before selling old games to Zypher. Read the listing, check what is included, and give the cartridge label the respect that tiny rectangle has somehow demanded since 1989.
