V-Rally Edition 99
International Rally Racing on Nintendo 64
V-Rally Edition 99 turns rally competition into a broad tour of changing terrain and weather. Its 16 cars respond differently on asphalt, gravel, snow, and mud, so success depends on more than holding the accelerator. Steering sensitivity, braking, suspension, and other setup choices let you adjust a car for the conditions, while a co-driver calls upcoming turns to help you prepare for crests, hairpins, and sudden changes in grip.
Three Ways to Compete
Arcade Mode offers a direct race against opponents and the clock. Time Trial is built for practicing stages and refining a faster line. Championship is the larger progression mode, linking 24 stages into a season in which consistent finishes matter across the full schedule. Altogether, the game contains 52 tracks set across eight countries, giving the campaign a steady rhythm of new surfaces, scenery, and handling challenges.
A separate two-player option supports split-screen racing on the same console. Driver profiles preserve progress and settings, and the original manual documents adjustable difficulty plus optional Rumble Pak feedback. These systems make the game suitable for both quick head-to-head races and longer attempts to master every stage.
A Focused Late-1990s Rally Port
Developed by Eden Studios and published in North America by Infogrames, this Nintendo 64 edition adapts the V-Rally formula around the console’s controller and multiplayer setup. The presentation is lean and functional, keeping attention on road reading, vehicle control, and the contrast between high-speed straights and technical corners. It is rated E for Everyone. Exact release, player, region, and format details appear in Quick Specs.
