WCW Mayhem
WCW Wrestling Beyond the Ring
WCW Mayhem recreates the late-1990s World Championship Wrestling roster and presentation on Nintendo 64. More than 50 wrestlers are available, with entrances and venues drawn from Nitro, Thunder, Saturday Night, and the promotion’s pay-per-view events. Matches begin in the arena, but the game’s defining feature is its backstage brawling: fights can move into a dozen areas outside the ring, changing the scenery and available space without abandoning the match.
Multiple Match Types and Custom Wrestlers
The lineup includes six match types, supporting solo play as well as local multiplayer for up to four players. The momentum system rewards sustained offense and creates a push-and-pull flow as competitors build toward stronger attacks. A create-a-wrestler mode lets you assemble an original performer rather than relying entirely on the licensed roster, adding another reason to experiment with different move combinations and appearances.
WCW Mayhem favors an accessible, presentation-heavy approach. Tony Schiavone provides commentary in the Nintendo 64 version, while recognizable entrances, television sets, and event branding help each bout resemble the broadcasts of its era. Backstage areas and match options give players room to alternate between conventional ring contests and looser brawls.
