Wetrix
About Wetrix
Wetrix turns a small 3D landscape into a constantly changing water-management puzzle. Pieces fall from above, but instead of completing lines, you use Uppers to raise walls and shape basins before rain arrives. Every lake you build buys time and points; every leak pushes the drain meter toward failure. Downs can cut channels or repair awkward terrain, while bombs, ice, fireballs and earthquakes repeatedly upset a carefully planned board.
How It Plays
The challenge is balancing short-term survival with a stable landscape. Deep reservoirs hold more water, yet overloaded ground can trigger earthquakes. Ice temporarily locks water in place, fireballs evaporate it, and bombs punch holes through existing defenses. Because the next piece is always visible, strong play comes from reading the terrain, preparing safe spillways and deciding when a risky scoring opportunity is worth the danger. The angled camera makes the whole board readable while still emphasizing the height and shape of each barrier.
Modes and Multiplayer
Classic mode delivers the main endurance format, while Pro removes some of the easier safety nets for a sharper challenge. Practice provides a controlled place to learn the piece set and water behavior. Timed Challenge variants, fixed-piece challenges and Handicap play offer shorter or deliberately uneven sessions. Two players can compete in split screen, where efficient construction and disruptive attacks make the same rule set feel much more aggressive.
This North American Nintendo 64 release supports one or two players and was developed by Zed Two and published by Ocean. It is an unusual puzzle game built around fluid simulation, spatial planning and escalating environmental pressure rather than conventional falling-block matches.
